C. elegans Fat and Feeding Regulatory Circuits

We study energy balance in intact organism. We primarily use C. elegans as an experimental system to investigate neural circuits that regulate feeding behavior, neuroendocrine regulators of fat metabolism, and how metabolic state regulates behavioral plasticity. We also use phenotypic screening and in silico predictions to identify and decipher the mechanisms through which small molecules affect fat and feeding mechanisms.
